Benjamin Gene, President & CEO

Benjamin Gene, founder of Keyes Property Management has been in the property management arena since birth.  Having spent years working with his family’s apartment and commercial real estate firm in Michigan, Benjamin saw great potential in the South Florida marketplace and was fortunate enough to launch Keyes Property Management with The Keyes Company, one of South Florida’s oldest and most respected real estate firms in the country. 

 

Benjamin grew up in West Bloomfield, MI and relocated to south Florida in 2008 to start his real estate career.

 

Today, Benjamin serves as President and CEO of KPM. Benjamin holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.  Benjamin is married to Jennifer Gene, a Keyes Realtor in Boca Raton, and they have two children, Sophia and Caleb.

 

Jennifer Mendoza, Vice President of Business Development

Currently serving on the board of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) Southeast Florida Chapter. Previously served as 2017 Past President, 2016 President and 2015 Vice President. 

 

Jennifer is a Florida licensed real estate professional, with over 15 years of property management experience. Her level of knowledge within the industry is broad. Jennifer’s hands on and executive level management experience includes: Property Management for Investors, Commercial, Affordable Student Housing, Luxury Student Housing, Brand-New Lease Ups (Student and Affordable), Conventional,  HUD Rehabs, Acquisitions, Acquisition Rehabs, Section 42 LIHTC, and Project-Based Section 8 HUD Housing. 

 

Her experience encompasses extensive knowledge in residential leases, Florida Landlord Tenant Law, tenant screening, Fair Housing, marketing, financial review, financial report preparation, preparing budgets and business plans, market comparisons, employee development and training, resident retention and communications, community communication. 

 

 Jennifer graduated from Kaplan University with a Bachelors in Business Management/Administration and is the mother to one child, a son.

 

David Porto, Property Manager - Palm Beach County

David Porto is a veteran property manager who comes to KPM with extensive experience in both property management and business practices. For 20 years, David oversaw development and management of 6 Subway locations as an owner/operator. After selling his stake in his Subway franchises, David worked for the McDonalds corporation, managing numerous South Florida locations.

 

With his extensive knowledge in customer service, business management and property management, KPM is excited to have David on our team.

 

Mark Pinilla, Property Manager - Miami/Dade

Mark prides himself on being able to bring a peace of mind to his clients that is akin to the comfort of having a wise older brother. Mark utilizes his real estate license to compliment the property management team and more fully assist clients. Mark has a lovely wife of nineteen years and two daughters he can proudly boast are both on the honor roll. He teaches Sunday School to young children, participates in American Cancer Society walks, and he is certified with CERT, the Community Emergency Response Team of the Red Cross.

 

Mark is fluent in both English and Spanish.

 

Martin Venereo, Property Manager - Broward County

Martin Venereo is a property management veteran who brings with him a calming and wise approach to property management. Martin’s deep knowledge of maintenance and customer service make him a true asset to the tenants, owners and the company as a whole.

 

Jeffrey Gray, Property Manager - Martin and St. Lucie County

Jeff Gray joined Keyes Property Management in 2018 with 10 years experience in the property management field.  Jeff is extremely hard working and an expert at handling even the most challenging of property management situations.  Jeff currently overseas the Martin and St. Lucie County portfolio for KPM.

 

Jeff’s enthusiasm for his work and for helping others makes him an excellent addition to the team!
